Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. Growing up, she listened to classical music, old boleros along with traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves tangos as well as opera and other dramatic styles. She started singing and studying songs with her mother and commenced more serious vocal instruction at the age of 16 under the renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and then in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In her early years as a student and professional, she performed with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. In the years following her relocation back to The United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before returning to her new location in southern California. She sings as a soloist Latin American music for private events and also as part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Ana is involved in a variety of local activities, both an instructor and performer because she is passionate about the arts and music. Ana is also a past singer in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, she can instill enthusiasm, specifically among younger people and keep the tradition vibrant.
