MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen him enter mainstream Latin music. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Favorite Song in 2017. The year 2017 saw the release of ADN, his first long-player for La Industria Inc. in Medellin. On the Top Latin Albums chart, it ranked no. 8. In the following year, he joined forces with Ozuna to record Vaina Loca which reached number five on the chart of Top Latin Albums. He released Dopamina the chart-topping sophomore album in the following year. Later, in 2021, the singer sang a duet 2021 alongside TINI on her hit song Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was released in 2023. Turizo is a musician who was born in a musical home. His mother and brother were also musicians. In interviews, he has stated that music is compulsory. He was taught how to play the saxophone, guitar, ukulele, and piano as an infant. In spite of initially wanting to become a veterinarian, Julian convinced him that learning with a Cuban music teacher could change the direction of his profession.
